In an ideal world, we’d love to be able to offer free delivery on all orders. But a bottle/case of wine is a fragile/heavy item to pack and send out via courier. We are not going to use a cheap as chips courier just to be able to offer free delivery – we want to be able to sleep at night knowing your wine is in safe hands en route to you! We work hard to keep our wine bottle prices very competitive and don’t inflate them to cover delivery. We subsidise the delivery charge to keep any amount payable by you as low as possible, and any delivery charge applied is at cost price.

Useful delivery information

  • By processing and paying for an order via our website you are agreeing that you (and the recipient) are at least 18 years of age. We reserve the right to cancel an order or delivery if we are in any doubt of this.
  • We’ll deliver to the delivery address that you enter via the checkout process. Please make sure that the address information you give is accurate (especially if it’s a gift) – we can’t be held responsible if delivery is delayed due to incorrect delivery address information. An additional delivery charge may be applicable if the delivery requires redirecting due to incorrect address information.
  • If you would like to receive your delivery by a specific day please order in good time for us to achieve this!
  • If you would like to arrange for your delivery to be left, unsigned for, in a place of your choosing, (e.g. porch, shed, garage, under the table in the back garden) or with a neighbour then please specify this in the additional delivery notes field during the checkout procedure. Please note that Cellar Selected can’t be held responsible if your delivery goes missing or there is any damage after the courier has left as you’ve instructed.
  • Once we’ve received your order we’ll crack on and get it all packed up and ready to despatch – we’ll keep you updated with a delivery date via email, and you’ll be able to track your order.
  • Your order will be packed into specific mail order packaging which has been approved by our courier. We’ll pack your wine snugly, so it may appear that we’ve gone over the top – but better to receive a dry box rather than a wet one.
  • Once despatched, via courier, your order should be delivered next working day between 8am and 6pm. However, this isn’t guaranteed as sometimes (not very often) circumstances out of our control may delay delivery, e.g. adverse weather conditions, courier/traffic issues. We can’t be held responsible for a delivery delay.
  • If there is no one in to sign for the delivery, then the courier will leave a card through the letterbox for you/the recipient to call the local depot and arrange a convenient re-delivery or pick up from the local depot. From our own experience, these ‘sorry to have missed you cards’ can get thrown out with the spam mail, eaten by a dog, drawn on by a child – so if you’ve not received your order on the day you expected it please contact the courier via the details in our despatch email. Or give us a call/email and we’ll see what’s gone on.
  • If you don’t contact the courier to arrange a redelivery, the courier will attempt two more deliveries. If these are also unsuccessful then your order will be returned to us, which will incur returned delivery charge payable by you.
  • If your order is damaged during delivery you can either refuse to sign for it, or accept the delivery (stating it’s damaged) but you must inform us within 24 hours of any damage/breakages. Please check your order and inform us of any anomalies from what you ordered within 48 hours at the latest.
  • Having said all the above, all being well, your order should arrive safe and sound. Enjoy and happy sipping!

  • The e-Gift Voucher will be delivered, via email, to the email address entered into the ‘Recipient Email Address’ field. So, you can have it sent directly to the recipient or you (if you want to print it to pop into a card or forward it at a later date).
