Beaujolais Vieilles Vignes Les Pierres Dorees 2017, Domaine Romy
France / Burgundy
Andy's Tasting Notes
Produced from vineyards with excellent vine age (50+ years). This is a classic, joyously fruity Beaujolais yet with very impressive depth and flavour. Bursting with raspberry and redcurrant fruit together with a gentle touch of spice. Elegant, aromatic and fresh. Lovely roundness with no harshness.
Price per bottle £10.70
Domaine Romy is a 30ha property located in the premium Beaujolais wine-growing area known as ‘Les Pierres Dorees’, named after the golden colour of the granite stones found in the vineyards.
The tradition of wine-making in the family goes as far as the 1700s. A natural hands-off approach in the cultivation of the vines, creating wines that are a true expression of the terroir.
The vineyards are certified Terra Vitis – an environmental certification based on principles of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. They follow sustainable and organic practices, adapting the vine yields to the potential of each plot to give the most healthy and ripe fruit, full flavours.
