The 2020 vintage in Western Australia was superb with low yields producing exceptional quality fruit and lots of concentration. This Malbec exhibits all the qualities of this great year with bags of plum and dark cherry fruit, and moreish savoury and chocolatey character. Long, mellow and smooth.

In 1974 Capel Vale was the first winery in Western Australia to own and establish vineyards in the cool climate regions of Margaret River, Mount Barker and Geographe. Original winemaker and owners Dr Peter and Elizabeth Pratten produced the first vintage in 1980, handing responsibility to son Simon in the mid 2000s. They are still a family-owned and -managed winery.
Capel Vale Wines has been awarded Top 5 Red Star Winery & Top 100 Wineries in Australia for the 11th consecutive year in James Halliday’s 2021 Australian Wine Companion.
