I can’t improve on the winemaker, Pepe Fuster, tasting note! – “Weighty and complex yet retaining a bright freshness characterized by blackberry and raspberry fruit and spice. The contact with French oak gives this wine a new world feel while remaining firmly and typically Spanish with the 65% old Grenache and Carinena.”

Pepe Fuster makes wine from his 26ha vineyard in Terra Alta, near Tarragona in southern Catalonia. The vineyard is organically certified – with stoney limestone and clay soil, and vines grown at 500- 600m altitude.

A blend of Garnacha 45%, Cariñena 20% and Syrah 20%, with the remaining 15% made up from Cabernet Sauvignon. A month’s contact with oak staves gives a touch of vanilla and added complexity.
