Chateau Pajzos Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos 2013

Hungary / Tokaj

Andy's Tasting Notes

One of the best vintages for the last 20 years in this region.  This stylish Tokay has a delightful aromatic quality combined with superb richness yet balanced by classic Tokay acidity.

Lots of citrus, dried apricot, peach, caramel and praline.

As well as the food match below, it is also sublime with chocolate (milk or dark), fruit mousses and fruit cakes.

70% Furmint 30% Harslevelu

The Tokaji wine region is in the north east of Hungary, towards the borders of Slovakia and Ukraine. The region is centered around the confluence of the Tisza and Bodrog rivers, with the vineyards planted on the south and southwest slopes above. The rising mists from the rivers in autumn encourage the onset of `noble rot` in the grapes, producing one of the great and most distinct sweet wines of the world.
